The Seventh Sabbath
Read Leviticus 23, paying close attention to verse 16. This tells about the feasts unto the Lord. This shows giving thanks every fifty days after we bring in the harvest. In our case today it would be after we get paid for our work. It shows that we need to start thanking God as soon as we begin the work that eventually leads to bringing in the harvest. What if we took this same time to pray? What if we prayed for healing, our unsaved loved ones, or even our country?
Anyone who is truly in the Spirit knows that our country is headed in a dangerous direction. If you are following closely enough, you are probably already deep in prayer. If you are not, then you need to take the time to pray. Prayer is not a substitute for researching current events, studying the word, voting your conscience and encouraging others to do the same, but it is the MOST important thing you will do. The only thing that will turn this country around is if Spirit filled Christ Followers get down on their knees and seek guidance, ask for God’s perfect will in our nation, pray for the conversion of and Godly wisdom to be given to specific candidates, and act on what the Spirit leads you to do specifically, even if it is not the most “politically correct” or popular thing to do.
You may think you already know what prayer is, but I still urge you to study the Lord’s Prayer closely. Jesus began with reverence and acknowledging who God is. He prayed for God’s Kingdom to come to earth and for his will to be done there exactly as it is in heaven. He also asked for daily sustenance or daily provision. This provision is both spiritual and natural. For Christ even called himself the Bread of Life. That means we need Christ daily. He then asked “forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors”. He went on to say that if we do not forgive, we cannot be forgiven. If we are harboring unforgiveness, it is imperative that we let it go. (Hint: If you remember it, it is unforgiveness. God throws our sins “in the sea of forgetfulness” and remembers them no more. ) We need to ask God to help us to completely let go of past hurts and bitterness. He then requests God to deliver us from Satan. He then finishes with more reverence and acknowledgement of who God is. If we pray with this frame of mind and do it daily, then study the word so God can give us our “daily bread” or Christ, then we will be able to walk with God.
I am asking everyone to stand with me in praying that our country goes back to the principles on which it was founded. I am also asking people to pray that not only do we not continue to lose more of our precious religious liberties, but that we gain back some of those we have lost. If you don’t think we have lost any, the just do a search of this topic on Google or Gibiru and see what you find. I would like us all to begin praying on Friday, September 14, 2012. I would like us to continue praying daily until the Seventh Sabbath after on November 3. See the actual Sabbath is from Friday to Saturday evening. Now there is no sin in worshiping God any other day. In fact it should be any day, but this is the true original Sabbath. None of this matters except that the more of us that are on our knees, the more power we have to open up the windows of heaven and turn this country back to its foundation.
